Transparency

thank you, stranger
thank you, friend
for opening a window into your soul
for clarity and transparency and perspective

it is liberating to share the secret
that inside each of us lies chaos
that no life has perfection

those we love at times we hate
in times of prosperity and ease, smugness and thoughts of our own achievements can fill our minds
to be replaced by despair and our lack to achieve those things we most desire

to be human
is to be lost between joy and darkness
confidence and ruin

thank you, stranger
thank you, friend
for sharing those secrets of your heart
the weakness of your mind and soul
the comfort, strength and hope you found
the love, the lust
the questioning of everything you believe
the wisdom
the whirling storm
the utter depths of blackness to which you fall
the same stories of our human hearts become a common langage that we all come from the same tree of humanity

  1. I love the rhythm of this poem and the stanza I like the most is-

“those we love at times we hate
in times of prosperity and ease, smugness and thoughts of our own achievements can fill our minds
to be replaced by despair and our lack to achieve those things we most desire

    to be human
is to be lost between joy and darkness
    confidence and ruin”

The imagery of human frailties and triumphs for our consciousness is connected makes it interesting- like all the echoes of subconsciousness in a sphere.
